Sighing inwardly with relief, Kimato heads for the strange vehicle. She is accustomed to walking everywhere she goes, and has not ridden on anything in quite some time. A little apprehensive of this Whitakker's driving skills, nonetheless she climbs in, holding her small bag in her lap.
Unconsciously fiddling with the bottle around her neck, she asks nervously, "How fast does this thing go?"
The impish grin that crosses Whitakker's face makes her wish immediately that she had not asked.

"I think my bike can keep up, Whit. I'll ride alongside one of the vehicles." Dimitri says as a smile wraps around his face. "It might not look like much, but I rebuilt it myself, so it gets the job done. Anyhoo, are we ready to sallyforth to our goal?" Dimitri says in a jokingly dramatic voice.

Post by Thanatos on Feb 23, 2005 18:49:24 GMT -5
Thanatos leans peacefully against his own mode of transportation, an elongated metallic giant that best resembles a radically altered motorcycle. The android waits patiently throughout the struggles of the rest of the party as it attempts to allocate the transportation available. Thanatos finally sees fit to speak again after the proper places have been taken in the assorted vehicles available.
"The trip will take approximitely eight days at an ideal pace. Terrain we will be traversing consists largely of forest, although the local governmental system--The Grand Confederation of Xenon--has provided a rough path which will for the most part prevent unnecessary damage to the vehicles involved in the expedition. Speed will vary; thick forests will require movement as slow as six kilometers an hour, while Traderoads will allow for a speed exceeding sixty kilometers an hour. This is the estimated maximum speed available to the automobiles salvaged in the White Village."
At this Thanatos turns leisurely, heavy black overcoat draping about him as he jumps lithely into the only visible seat of his exceptionally custom motorbike. Instead of starting the engine, however, Thanatos instead glances upwards one more time to examine in full each and every member of the expedition through the opaque black gloss of his visor.
"Gasoline will be exceptionally precious, and there are groups of individuals that prey on travelers much like ourselves, not all of them of the MASS. Be wary, and be careful--and do learn to drive quickly. That will be all..."
With a final courteous nod from within his deep-set leather seat, Thanatos starts the engine of his elongated motorcycle, the vehicle emitting a quiet hum. As engine after engine roars loudly to life amongst the strange makeshift caravan, Thanatos' own motorbike glides forward to take a place at the head of the convoy. And with that, they are off...
There is one very interesting fact, for any that have taken the time at all to examine Thanatos' vehicle more closely.
It lacks controlling devices of any sort.
