Carrie waits sheltered by the shadows on a forgotten road. It is very dark outside, but the sky is full of clouds.
A man was supposed to be meeting her any minute, but she planned to first study his movements before alerting him of her presence.

Shadow walked down the uncrowded street in the darkness of the night. He came upon a building that was abandoned of life. And he waited.
As he stood, he saw a woman making her way across the street. "The only person for miles at this time of night."The woman stopped, looked across the street for a sign of another human being and then scurried away. He turned to his left and saw another person standing way back in the alleyway. "Maybe I was mistaken,"he said quietly to himself."It must be him"
"So, I've seen that you've made it." Shadow walked out of the darkness. "I've been informed that our meeting will be quick....Let's get on with it."Shadow stood unblinking at this woman, studying her. The last thing he expected was that the person who had called upon him was a woman. He studied her body. She had brown hair with a very weird blue streak in it. "Very Peculiar."He thought to himself. He walked over in front of her. They were eye to eye.

Carrie holds herself up a little higher as to not be taken lightly.
"Quick enough for my liking, at least," Carrie tosses the strand of blue hair aside and pulls up her sleeves. "I'll be testing you on your fighting abilities. Show me what you're capable of; Put that sword to good use, if you can manage," she nods her head at the blade, then looks him squarely in the eye once more.
Smirking, she says, "I'll be a lady and let you have the first move".

"Hmm..," he said as he studied her more closely. He took a few very cautious steps back, pulled out out his scimitar, and wiped off it's sharp, silver blade. He also unsheathed his dagger and admired it's beauty. The beautiful jewels shined, even in the darkness. They glowed vibrantly. "Maybe I'll put you to good use," he whispered to his dagger. Shadow stood up as tall as he could and stared in the direction of his opponent. He bent low and popped his back, and then stood up again. " I'm used to going second, but if you insist," he said. In a very rapid movement, both weapons drawn, Shadow ran a death rush at Carrie, his opponent.

As the man lunges at her, Carrie keeps her footing. She plans her escape from the blades, hoping it would buy her some time, leaving him unprotected and alarmed for that critical moment when she would strike.
Three...Two...One...NOW!
She leaps with massive force into the air, hurling in tight circles over him, unnoticeable. She lands as quietly as she can manage, turning to see the man startled, possibly wondering what had become of her. She grins and draws a shuriken, tossing it at his vulnerable back.

Shadow turned around just in time to see a shuriken being hurled at him. He rolled to left to dodge the attack. As Shadow stood up, he looked at the woman and the smirk on her face.
"It seems I've underestimated you," Shadow said with a small laugh. He began walking foward very slowly, just to confuse his opponent. No lunges or any of the sort, just walking. Shadow's anger grew as he saw the look on the woman's face not disappearing.
Shadow thought back to his last battle with his master Saigori. He had used a technique that had not only knocked Shadow out, but he lost a lot of blood from the attack. "If only I could do it," he thought to himself.
In a screaming rage, he yelled "FLASH RAPTOR STRIKE!!!" In a blinding flash, Shadow was about to cut through his opponent like butter.

Aware of the fatalities both would suffer if Shadow's attack followed through, Carrie draws the longer of her two daggers and once again bides her time, waiting for the target to close in.
She rolls to the side, narrowly avoiding the massive sword and using her dagger to lightly cut the man's forearm, just enough to knock him out of his rage.
"You need not use all your energy at once. No good will come of it. I suggest you try and use your knowledge to help you, and not just your might."
